About Neurodivergent Minds Our ideas Free guide and where to start For parents and children For professionals and CPD Buying and downloads Getting help
Neurodivergent Minds is a UK publisher of practical, neurodiversity-affirming guides, printable packs, interactive activities and online CPD courses for neurodivergent adults, families and the professionals who support them. It is based in Manchester. The starting idea is that the goal is not to do the neurotypical thing better, but to build a life that works with your neurodivergent mind.
There are four groups. Neurodivergent adults can use the adult guides. Parents and carers can use the parent guides and the Little Minds packs for children. Teachers, managers, coaches and home educators can use the professional How To guides. Organisations and individuals can take the online CPD courses.
It means we treat neurodivergent minds as different, not broken. We start from strengths and interests, take sensory, energy and executive function differences seriously as real and physical, and see behaviour as communication. We use identity-first language such as autistic child, we do not use functioning labels and we never teach children to hide who they are.
No. A formal diagnosis is not required for support or for our tools to be useful. Many people are never formally assessed because of long waiting lists, cost, being missed or masking, and recognising yourself as autistic or ADHD and using what helps does not need anyone's permission. We never diagnose and we never suggest someone is not really neurodivergent. We do encourage a formal assessment where you want one or need one to access support.
No. Our guides, packs, courses and activities are general information and practical tools, not medical advice, a diagnosis, therapy or legal advice, and they cannot replace a professional who knows you or your child. For anything specific, speak to your GP or the school SENCO. For legal questions about home education we point to Education Otherwise, because we are not qualified to advise and rules change.
The Traffic Light Method™ is a simple way of describing your energy in three colours. Green means I have capacity, amber means I need to adapt and red means I need recovery. None of the colours is good or bad: they are information. The most useful moment to act is amber, before overload tips into red. It is explained in full in our free Neurodivergent Energy & Overwhelm Guide and in the article on children and the traffic light.
Cognitive admin is the hidden mental work around a task, separate from the task itself: noticing, deciding, sequencing, remembering, switching, monitoring, interpreting and anticipating. It is why a thirty-second email can be harder than an hour on a special interest, and why a five-minute hunt for keys is never just five minutes. It is the idea behind our 3-Minute Blitz guide and the articles on starting tasks and losing things.
Many productivity and life strategies assume that neurotypical planning, starting and organising are the default and that everyone else is applying them badly. We start from the opposite view. Our guides are practical frameworks for how neurodivergent minds actually work, so they avoid asking for perfection, pushing through or becoming more productive.
Yes. The free Neurodivergent Energy & Overwhelm Guide is a 12-page PDF that introduces the Traffic Light Method™. You can get it from the home page. It opens straight away and we ask for your email address, which also adds you to our email list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Match it to the problem. If you cannot get started on tasks, try the 3-Minute Blitz. If a day has fallen apart and you want a kinder way back, try The Neurodivergent Reset. If you keep losing things, try Everything Has A Place. If you are not sure, begin with the free energy and overwhelm guide.
The adult guides (3-Minute Blitz, The Neurodivergent Reset and Everything Has A Place) are £25 each, and the Neurodivergent Everyday Life Toolkit bundle is £59. The parent guides are £5.99 each and all eight together are £22.99. The professional How To guides are £11.99 each, with How to Coach Neurodivergent Adults at £14.99. Online CPD courses are £24.99 each. The price at checkout is the full price in pounds sterling.
They are short, practical PDFs for parents and carers of neurodivergent children: School-Readiness Checklist, Moving Up to Secondary School, Meltdowns and Shutdowns, While You Wait for CAMHS, Why Won't My Child Sleep?, Calmer Mealtimes, the Home Education Starter Guide and the Home Education Planner. Most include fillable sheets, and each ends with a page of helplines and safety notes.
Little Minds is our section for children. It has printable PDF packs for learning and for mental wellbeing, such as My Feelings & Calm-Down Toolkit and My Worry Toolkit, and a calm browser-based game world that you can play free. The activities are untimed, have no losing and no leaderboards, and are practical wellbeing tools rather than therapy. See Little Minds.
Our articles are free to read. They cover sleep, meltdowns and shutdowns, picky eating, starting school, moving to secondary school, big feelings, worries, sensory differences, self-esteem and waiting for CAMHS, and each ends with a clear note on when to speak to a GP or school SENCO.
They are practical guides for the people who support neurodivergent people: four on working with neurodivergent students (primary school, secondary school, FE college and university), plus How to Work with Neurodivergent People in the Workplace, How to Be a Home Educator and How to Coach Neurodivergent Adults. See the professional guides.
Our online CPD courses are self-certified professional learning, not currently accredited by a third-party body. Each certificate shows the minutes of learning completed and is suitable for your own CPD log or training record. You pass the final assessment with 5 out of 6 and can retake it as many times as you like.
Everything we sell is digital and nothing is posted. Payment is taken securely by Stripe, and we never see your card details. Once payment is confirmed you get immediate access on screen and we email your download or access links. Please keep that email, because it is how you return to your purchase later. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and then contact info@neurodivergentminds.com.
If a download does not work or something is not as described, email us and we will fix it or refund you. If you bought something by mistake and have not downloaded or started it, email us within 14 days for a refund. Because digital content is delivered immediately, the 14-day right to cancel is lost once your download or access begins. Your legal rights are not affected. Full details are in our terms and refunds.
PDF guides and printable packs are for personal, family or single-educator use, so please do not resell or share them publicly. CPD courses are one purchase for one person.
