One-to-one support

Coaching and mentoring for neurodivergent minds

Practical, neurodiversity-affirming coaching for adults, students and parents. We work with how your mind actually works, not against it. Online anywhere in the UK, or face to face in Manchester.

Who it's for

Support that fits your life

Coaching is for neurodivergent individuals, but it can also benefit anyone, whether or not you have a formal diagnosis.

Working adults

Getting started on tasks, managing workload and energy, communication at work, avoiding burnout and making reasonable adjustments work in practice.

Students

Planning, deadlines, getting started and staying on track at college or university. For students without DSA mentoring, including international students and those waiting for an assessment.

Parents

Life admin, routines and energy when you're neurodivergent yourself, parenting a neurodivergent child or both.

How we work

Practical, not about becoming "more neurotypical"

Many strategies assume neurotypical planning and starting are the default, and treat everyone else as doing them badly. Coaching here starts from how you actually think, then builds a way of working that fits. Sessions often cover things like:

About our coach

Our coach has 13 years' experience as a Band 4 Specialist Mentor, supporting students with autism, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, as well as students with mental health conditions, at universities across the North West. They hold an MEd in Psychology of Education and are a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

Coaching is not therapy, counselling or a crisis service. If you're struggling right now, please see where to get help, contact your GP, or call Samaritans on 116 123.

Questions

Common questions

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. Coaching is for anyone who wants practical support, with or without a formal diagnosis.

How long is a session?

About an hour. You book one session at a time, so there's no long commitment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. With 48 hours' notice you can move your session or get a full refund. See our coaching terms for the details.

Can Access to Work pay for coaching?

Often, yes. Access to Work is a DWP grant for disabled people in paid work or self-employment, and it can fund workplace coaching. You apply to Access to Work yourself. We can give you a quote at £75 an hour, and we start sessions once your grant letter arrives.

I'm a university student with DSA. Can I have private coaching?

If you have DSA-funded mentoring, please use that for your study support first: it's free to you. To keep things fair and clear, we don't offer private coaching to students we already support through DSA, or for the same support a student already receives through DSA.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching is practical and focused on everyday life, work and study. It isn't counselling, therapy or a crisis service. If you need mental health support, please see where to get help.
