Your choice
In line with DfE requirements, it's your choice whether support is face to face, remote, or a mix, and you can switch whenever you want. We provide face-to-face support in North West England and remote support anywhere in the UK.
Remote sessions
- Sessions take place on Microsoft Teams, using a unique meeting link or a password.
- Sessions are never recorded, by either side, unless both agree in writing for a specific reason.
- Support workers join from a private, quiet space, use headphones, and have a plain or blurred background.
- You can choose to have your camera off.
- At the start of remote support we'll agree what happens if the connection drops (for example, we try reconnecting for 5 minutes, then switch to phone), and confirm where you are in case of an emergency.
- Only the time support is actually delivered is recorded on the timesheet.
Face-to-face sessions
- Held in a suitable public or university space, such as a library study room, that you both agree is comfortable.
- Support workers follow our Lone Workers Policy and Health and Safety Policy.
- Travel time is not charged to DSA.
